Water Filtration

Water Filtration Systems for Massachusetts & Rhode Island Homes

Solutions backed by 15 Years of Local Expertise

If you’re concerned about your home’s water quality, you’ve come to the right place. Since 2011, Clear Water Filtration, Pump, and Well Service has been diagnosing and resolving residential water quality problems across Greater Boston, the South Shore, and MetroWest.

When we recommend a filtration system, it’s based on actual water testing results, so you know you’re getting a system that’s targeted to your home. Whether that means a whole-house filter, a water softener, or a reverse osmosis system, we’ll find the right fit and handle the installation from start to finish.

The systems we install are built to target the contaminants most commonly found in local water supplies, including:

Water Treatment Systems We Install

We install and service a complete lineup of residential water treatment systems. The right fit depends on your water quality and how much of your home you want covered.

Filtered water at every tap in your home

A whole-house filtration system is installed at your home’s main water line, so every faucet, shower, and appliance is supplied with filtered water. These systems tackle a wide range of contaminants and are a great solution if you’re concerned about more than just the water you drink.

If you’re looking to install a whole-home filter for the first time, our technicians are available to provide you with a free estimate and recommendations. We handle the entire process, from water line connections to setup and testing. And we also offer routine maintenance services to ensure your system continues to supply filtered water day after day.

A solution to Massachusetts’ hard water

One of the most consistent water challenges our area deals with is hard water from naturally occurring calcium and magnesium minerals. We’re proud to install USA-made water softeners that remove these minerals, leaving you with better water.

If you’re dealing with scale buildup, spotty dishes, or skin and hair problems from your water, a softener may be exactly the solution you need. Our technicians install new units and service existing water softeners, including replacing salt, flushing resin beds, and completing repairs.

Exceptional water filtration at a dedicated faucet

Along with whole-home solutions, we install and service reverse osmosis filtration systems. RO systems offer some of the most effective filtration technology available for residential use and are installed under your kitchen sink.

These systems are low-profile, low-maintenance, and address a wide range of water impurities, including long- and short-chain PFAS, bacteria, and sediment. If clean, purified water straight from the tap is what you're after, it's a great option for your home.

Chemical-free protection against bacteria and waterborne pathogens.

When you want water purification that goes beyond standard filtration, a UV water purifier is the answer. Our team provides installation and maintenance services for new and existing UV disinfection systems.

We especially recommend exploring this water treatment option if your home relies on a private well. When incorporated into a broader filtration setup, a UV system can help you achieve exceptional water quality.

Removing PFAS From Your Water

Eliminating PFAS for cleaner drinking water

PFAS, often called “forever chemicals,” can remain in groundwater and drinking water for years. We install proven filtration systems that use technologies such as activated carbon and reverse osmosis to help reduce PFAS. Based on your water test results, water usage, and existing water quality, we’ll recommend the right treatment option for cleaner water throughout your home.

Common Questions About
Water Filtration

It starts with a water test. The right system depends on what contaminants are actually present in your water, whether you're on city water or a private well, your home's size, and your goals. We recommend testing first and building a recommendation around the results rather than guessing.

A point-of-use system, like an under-sink RO unit, treats water at a single tap. A whole-house system treats all the water that enters your home. If your concern is only drinking water, a point-of-use system may be enough. If you're dealing with contaminants that affect your skin, appliances, or pipes, whole-house coverage makes more sense.

Yes. Reverse osmosis systems are highly effective at reducing PFAS levels at the point of use, typically removing 90 to 99 percent of PFAS compounds. Certain whole-house activated carbon systems also reduce PFAS across the whole home. The right choice depends on your contamination levels and how much coverage you need.

Most residential water treatment system installations are completed in a single visit, usually between two and four hours. More complex whole-house setups may take a bit longer. We'll give you a time estimate when we schedule your appointment.

Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance plans and can service any system we've installed. We also provide 24/7 emergency service if something goes wrong outside of normal business hours.

It depends on the system. Filter cartridges typically need replacing every 6 to 12 months. RO membranes generally last 2 to 3 years. UV bulbs need annual replacement. We'll give you a complete maintenance schedule at installation, so nothing catches you off guard.

A free water test covers just the basics, such as testing for hardness and pH. This is a great place to start, but our independent lab standard scan provides more comprehensive water quality information, testing for the 26 most common potential contaminants in water, including bacteria, iron, arsenic, lead, sediment, odor, and chlorine. Our process is transparent, and the test results are yours to keep.
